Guides
Short, practical how-tos for getting the most out of Rollout — SoundCloud, social, credits, and what’s coming next.
Getting started
Accounts, connections, and the one-time setup.
Signing in to Rollout (and the two accounts you need)
Sign in with Microsoft, Google, or an emailed code — no password. Plus why you need both a Rollout account and a SoundCloud account.
Connect your SoundCloud account to Rollout (step by step)
The full one-time setup: subscribe to Artist Pro, register a SoundCloud app, paste your Client ID and Secret, and authorize. About 5 minutes.
Where to find your SoundCloud Client ID and Client Secret
Your Client ID and Secret come from your registered SoundCloud app — not your artist name or login. Here is exactly where they are and the mistake to avoid.
Do you need SoundCloud Pro to use the API?
Yes — registering a SoundCloud API application requires a SoundCloud Artist Pro subscription. Setup is self-serve and instant.
Is my SoundCloud account safe with Rollout?
Rollout uses SoundCloud’s official connect flow, never sees your password, stores your secret encrypted, and only does what you ask. You can disconnect any time.
Releasing
Uploading, scheduling, artwork, and track details.
How to schedule a SoundCloud release
Set when Rollout should publish — using the calendar picker — and let it upload automatically. Never early. Uses prepaid credits.
How to automatically upload tracks to SoundCloud
Connect once, upload audio, fill Basic / Metadata / Permissions, add cover art, then publish now or on a schedule — without the SoundCloud upload UI.
Public, private, and scheduled releases on SoundCloud
Privacy (public/private), quiet mode (comments & stats), and how Rollout schedules by hold-and-upload — never early.
What audio files can I upload to SoundCloud with Rollout?
WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF, OGG, AAC and M4A up to 200 MB. What to export, and what to do if the file is too big or the wrong type.
Add cover art to your SoundCloud release
Prepare a square cover to SoundCloud’s size rules, drag it onto the cover box, or keep Rollout’s auto placeholder. Rollout does not auto-resize your image.
Set your track details (Basic, Metadata & Permissions)
Use the SoundCloud-style tabs in Rollout: Basic info, Metadata, and Permissions — only fields that stick on the public API, plus locked defaults for repeat releases.
Lock track defaults for faster releases
Lock genre, artist, privacy, permissions, and other fields so every new upload inherits your usual settings — unlock anytime to edit one-off tracks.
Social auto-post
Connect each network once; announce every release automatically.
Auto-post your releases to social (overview)
Pick the networks you use, connect once, then let Rollout announce every release with cover art on a schedule — Facebook, Instagram, and more.
How to connect Facebook to Rollout
Plain steps for non-technical artists: get two free codes from Facebook, paste them into Rollout, then log in once to connect your music Page.
How to connect Instagram to Rollout
Plain steps: switch Instagram to Creator or Business, then sign in with Instagram. Facebook is optional.
How to connect TikTok to Rollout
Plain steps for non-technical artists: get two free codes from TikTok, paste them into Rollout, then log in. Posts only show to you until TikTok approves.
How to connect X to Rollout
Very plain steps for non-technical artists: buy credits on X, create a free app, copy four codes, paste them into Rollout. About 20¢ per post when it includes a SoundCloud link.
How to connect Discord to Rollout
Post release announcements into a channel on your own Discord server. You paste a private link from your server — Rollout does not host a Discord for you.
How to connect Bluesky to Rollout
Post release announcements to your own Bluesky account using a special app password (not your everyday login password).
How to connect Mastodon to Rollout
Post release announcements to your own Mastodon account. You connect the website you already use — not a Rollout-hosted account.
Credits, fixes & what’s next
Billing, troubleshooting, and the roadmap.
How Rollout credits work (Starter & packs)
Start free with welcome credits. Publish, schedule, and auto-post using prepaid credits. Packs from $8.99 when you need more.
Fix: SoundCloud says connected but Rollout is "waiting for authorization"
This means credentials are saved but the one-time Authorize step never finished — or the wrong Client ID was entered. Here is how to fix it.
Fix: the SoundCloud app-registration page is blank or won’t load
A blank or broken "Register application" / "Accept and create" page is a browser issue on SoundCloud’s site — usually privacy settings or blockers. Here is the fix.
Merch from your cover art (coming soon)
Turn every release’s artwork into tees, hoodies, stickers, posters, and more. Preview is live in the console — ordering ships when print-on-demand is connected.
