How to connect Discord to Rollout

Post release announcements into a channel on your own Discord server. You paste a private link from your server — Rollout does not host a Discord for you.

This posts a short message (and your cover art) into a Discord channel on a server you control — for example a fan server, band staff server, or release-announcements channel your community already uses.

Important: Rollout does not give you a Discord server, and it does not post into a shared Rollout server. You create a private “doorbell” link on your server; only that server’s channel receives posts. If you tested with your own server, that is expected — it is not a product-wide default.

Who this is for

• You already run (or co-run) a Discord for fans, collaborators, or a label.
• You can open Server Settings on that server, or an admin can make the link for you in about a minute.

If you do not use Discord with fans, skip this network — Facebook and Instagram are usually the better fit.

Part A — On your Discord server (about 3 minutes)

Discord calls the private link a webhook. Think of it as a one-way doorbell into one channel.

1. Open the Discord app or Discord in a browser.
2. Go to your server (the one where fans or your team hang out).
3. Click the server name at the top → Server Settings.
4. In the left menu, open Integrations.
5. Click Webhooks, then New Webhook (or “Create Webhook”).
6. Name it something clear, for example Rollout.
7. Choose which channel should get release posts (for example #releases or #announcements).
8. Click Copy Webhook URL. Keep this private — anyone with that link can post in that channel.

Part B — In Rollout

1. Open Social → ⚙ Connections.
2. Under Choose your networks, tap Discord.
3. Paste the link into the webhook field.
4. Click Connect Discord.
5. Click Send test post. Open that channel on your server — you should see a short test message.

If something goes wrong

• Rollout says the URL doesn’t look right — paste the full link Discord copied. It should start with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/. Do not paste an invite link (the kind that starts with discord.gg) or a bot token.
• You don’t see Server Settings — you are not an admin on that server. Ask someone who is, or use a server you own.
• Test post fails later — the webhook may have been deleted. Create a new one, paste it again, and reconnect.
