Where to find your SoundCloud Client ID and Client Secret

Your Client ID and Secret come from your registered SoundCloud app — not your artist name or login. Here is exactly where they are and the mistake to avoid.

Rollout connects with the Client ID and Client Secret from an app you register on SoundCloud. These are not your username, artist name, email, or password.

Where they are

  1. Sign in to SoundCloud and go to soundcloud.com/you/apps.
  2. Open your registered application (or register one — see the connection walkthrough).
  3. The page shows your Client ID and Client Secret. Copy each exactly.

The most common mistake

The Client ID is a long string of letters and numbers with no spaces — something like a1B2c3D4e5F6…. If you paste your artist name or login (which has spaces or looks like a name) into the Client ID field, the connection will look half-done and won't publish. Rollout now rejects obviously-wrong values on save, but it's worth double-checking: no spaces, long, gibberish-looking. Your Client Secret is similar and must be kept private — Rollout stores it encrypted.
