How to connect Bluesky to Rollout
Step-by-step: create a Bluesky app password (not your login password) and connect it in Rollout so releases can be announced on Bluesky.
This lets Rollout post a short announcement (and your cover when possible) to your Bluesky account.
Important
You will create an app password. That is not the password you use to log into Bluesky every day. App passwords are safer: you can revoke them without changing your main password.
Part A — Create an app password on Bluesky
- Open Bluesky and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Privacy and security (wording can vary slightly by app version).
- Find App Passwords and create a new one. Name it something like Rollout.
- Copy the app password Bluesky shows you. You usually only see it once.
Part B — Connect in Rollout
- In Rollout open Social → ⚙ Connections.
- Tap Bluesky under Choose your networks.
- Enter your handle (for example
yourname.bsky.social— without needing the @ if the form doesn’t ask for it). - Paste the app password (not your normal login password).
- Click Connect Bluesky, then Send test post.
- Check your Bluesky profile or home feed for the test post.
If something goes wrong
- Won’t connect — you almost certainly used your regular password. Make a new app password and try again.
- Worked before, fails now — the app password may have been revoked. Create a new one and reconnect.
- Bluesky posts are short. Use Draft with AI for that platform so the text fits.
