How to connect Instagram to Rollout
Plain steps: switch Instagram to Creator or Business, then sign in with Instagram. Facebook is optional.
Rollout can post your release cover picture and caption to Instagram. Instagram only allows this for a Creator or Business account — not a plain personal profile.
Good news: you sign in with Instagram. You do not need a Facebook Page, and you do not paste any developer codes.
What you need
- Your Instagram account (you’ll switch it to Creator or Business — free).
- A track in Rollout with cover art.
Part A — On your phone (do this first)
- Open the Instagram app → your profile.
- Open the menu → Settings (wording may say Settings and activity).
- Open Account type and tools.
- If you are still personal, tap Switch to professional account and pick Creator (or Business — either works).
If you skip this, Instagram will refuse the connection. Linking a Facebook Page is only needed if you also want Facebook posts.
Part B — In Rollout
- Open Social → Connections.
- Tap Instagram.
- Click Connect Instagram.
- An Instagram window opens — log in the way you normally do (your Instagram account, not Facebook).
- Say yes when it asks about posting. You return here with Instagram connected.
- Pick a track that has cover art → Send a test post → check Instagram.
Things to know
- Links in Instagram captions are not tappable. Rollout still puts your SoundCloud address in the text so people can copy it.
- You need cover art on the track first.
- If connect fails because the account is still personal, redo Part A, then try Connect Instagram again.
