Set your track details (Basic, Metadata & Permissions)
Use the SoundCloud-style tabs in Rollout: Basic info, Metadata, and Permissions — only fields that stick on the public API, plus locked defaults for repeat releases.
Click a track in the queue. The right-hand editor mirrors SoundCloud’s layout with three tabs. Rollout only shows fields that are live-verified (or documented) to stick on SoundCloud’s public upload API — so Metadata on SC matches what you entered.
Steps
- Click your song — details open on the right.
- Work through Basic info, Metadata, and Permissions (below).
- Click Save once — it saves all three tabs together. Always Save before Publish so title/genre/description are not empty on SoundCloud.
Basic info
- Title, optional permalink (URL slug; blank = from title).
- Genre — pick from SoundCloud’s list or type your own; tags; description (optional ✨ Write with AI).
- Privacy — Public or Private.
- When Rollout publishes — calendar for auto-upload later (your local time). Empty = publish when you click Publish. Not the same as Metadata “Release date.”
Metadata
- Artist, record label, release title (album/release name).
- Release date — display date on SoundCloud (calendar picker).
- ISRC, license (all rights reserved / Creative Commons options), buy-link URL and button title.
Not on the form (public API does not keep them): caption, composer, publisher, barcode, ISWC, BPM, key, explicit, etc.
Permissions
- Direct downloads, app playback, embed (anyone / only me / no one).
- Comments: enable comments, display comments, display stats (quiet mode).
Lock defaults
Click the lock next to a field to reuse that value on every new track. See locked track defaults.
Hover the small i next to a label for a plain-English tip. Related: cover art, scheduling.
