What audio files can I upload to SoundCloud with Rollout?
WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF, OGG, AAC and M4A up to 200 MB. What to export, and what to do if the file is too big or the wrong type.
Rollout takes your finished track and publishes it to SoundCloud for you. Here's what it accepts and what to send for the best result.
Supported formats
- WAV, FLAC, MP3, AIFF, OGG, AAC, M4A — most common export formats work.
- Up to 200 MB per file.
For the best quality
- Upload a high-quality source — a WAV or FLAC export, or a high-bitrate MP3. SoundCloud transcodes for streaming, so a clean master in gives a clean stream out.
- Export the final mastered version — Rollout uploads exactly what you give it.
How to upload
Click + Add track above the queue (not the cover box — that is only for images). Pick the file and wait for the progress bar to reach 100%. Your song then appears in the list, ready for details and publishing.
Uploading to Rollout does not put the track on SoundCloud yet — you still click Publish now (or schedule it).
If the upload fails or is rejected
- File too large (over 200 MB) — export a smaller file from your DAW or encoder. A high-quality MP3 or a shorter WAV often fits. Rollout’s limit is 200 MB per file today.
- Wrong type / “not audio” — use one of the formats above. Project files (e.g. .als, .flp, .zip stems) are not accepted. Export a stereo audio master first.
- Upload stalls mid-way — usually the network. Retry with a stable connection. A partial upload does not publish anything to SoundCloud.
- Wrong place — audio goes on + Add track. The square box is for cover art only.
